Testimonials

Dr Pam Oliver proofread my PhD thesis in July 2023 with meticulous detail, keen interest, and utmost professionalism. Pam's professional work ethic was expressed in both her proofreading style and in the way that she constantly communicated with me for the three weeks that we worked together. Pam particularly helped me cut down on redundancies throughout all chapters of my thesis, paying close attention to the flow of ideas and repetitive sections. She also suggested alternative writing styles to help me rewrite certain sections in a more succinct manner. I am delighted with Pam’s service in professionally proofreading my thesis, which helped me gain confidence in the final stages of my doctoral journey. I highly recommend Pam to anyone seeking a proof-reader. Thank you so much, Pam!  Roxane de Waegh, Doctoral candidate, Auckland University of Technology, August 2023

Pam has greatly contributed to improving the writing quality of my PhD thesis. Writing on visual arts in English as my second language was a great challenge to me. Thanks to Pam my text has been enhanced and made much clearer and concise. Pam responded quickly to my requests and was always friendly and kind. I'm very thankful to her.  Jorge Santana, PhD in Fine Arts, University of Auckland, 2020.

With keen interest, Pam proofread a draft of my doctoral thesis in November 2019. She gave me highly useful writing advice before, during and after the proofreading. Pam was meticulous in her proofreading, as she spotted errors, which ordinarily, I would have ignored. As promised, Pam’s work was also done in a timely fashion, giving me enough time to incorporate all her corrections and suggestions. I highly recommend Pam for proofreading services.  Chidozie Chukwudumogu/ Doctoral Candidate, The University of Auckland Business School, Department of Commercial Law, 2020.

Dr Pam Oliver had been helping me to proofread my PhD thesis before my initial submission. Her job was efficient and she focused on details. I am happy to work with her because she is knowledgeable about academic writing. I believe that she is not only a great proofreader but also an excellent teacher. You can learn a lot from the process of her proofreading.  Cheng Deng, Faculty of Education and Social Work, The University of Auckland, 2020.

Pam has undertaken proofreading work for me, and for my students, since 2017, [including] writing that has since been published. Pam’s work is reliable, timely, and of the highest quality. She is thorough in her proofreading and editing, and does this without overriding the unique voice of the author. She especially works with students in a deep way, undertaking to teach them sentence and argument structuring whilst proofreading their work. It is for these reasons that I have recommended her service to students and colleagues. Associate Professor Rachel Simon-Kumar, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland, 2020

Pam provided a high quality service in a timely fashion and I am very impressed. She responded promptly to my requests was able to work according to my quite tight schedule. Pam also made sure to seek clarification before proofreading some esoteric components of the work specific to my discipline (Asian and Political Studies). She was also committed to ensuring I understood her editing techniques and feedback through detailed margin comments, allowing me to apply the full value of her work to the improvement of my thesis. She is a reliable proof-reader and I recommend any student to enlist her expertise. Jake Cowan, Doctoral graduate, Political Studies, University of Auckland, 2018

Pam had proofread my Masters thesis. She is very friendly and approachable. I'm really happy with her work as she really understands what I need and what is required by my university. Her work was very fast. I would recommend Pam to other postgraduate students. Sanhchivorn Tha, Master of Business student, Auckland University of Technology, 21 July 2017

I have benefited from Pam’s editing skills while working on two refereed journal articles, both of which were accepted by the journals with minimal revisions. Throughout the process Pam made certain that I understood why she edited my work the way that she did, as she involved me in the process of improving the writing. Not only did I have a better article to present to the journal, but what I learned from the experience made me a better writer.  Pam knows how to make sure that your writing tells your readers where you are going to take them and how you are going to get them there. Her ability to communicate logic, grammar and structure will ensure your writing remains clear at every stage of the journey.  She has the skill to hold the big picture of how each element of your work hangs together while at the same time seeing the smallest details of punctuation, spelling, and unnecessary words.       Michael Wilson, doctoral candidate, South Australia, 18 May 2017
